1999 Camry LE V6

Just about to buy a 99 Camry V6. Did a quick search on the net and noticed various posts about the engine overheating. I always held Toyota to a higher standard but this worries me. Anyone familiar with this problem and/or no what the real problem is.

Like all cars, there will be someToyotas which have overheating problems, but they are not noted for any *design related* issues with engine cooling.

Proud owner of a trouble free 99 XLE V-6 with no overheating problem. The key to Toyota cars for my money is the high percentage of cars without inherent problems. Just better built with quality parts as is the Honda. I think of my car as a baby Lexus.

65,000 miles on my 99 V6 Camry LE and no overheating - including traveling with A/C in 106 degree summer temperatures. In fact, I've never seen it move off the normal mark (centered).

Probably poor maintenence. How many overheated cars on the side of the road do you see these days..... almost none.

However occassionaly a thermostat will fail to open or a hose may break.
