brakes

How soft is your "feeling on the brake"? 2004 V6 The pedal almost hit the floor. If the engine is turned off, the pedal holds high and feels like "solid as a rock".

There is a minimum distance the pedal should be from the floor. Usually specified to be a few inches. Any lower than that it may be a safety hazard. You still have the 3yr/36K miles warranty?

When the power is off there is no boost assist, even with brake force redistribution, so even systems with air in it may feel solid. Safer to have it checked.

Brake pedals shouldn't almost hit the floor. Put the key in ON position when you want to check your system while engine is off. Temporarily while your still driving the car, pump your pedal as you brake, about 3 pumps before final press. You might get a little bit more stopping power out of that depending on the problem. Do you feel the pedal deadstop rise as you pump?
