How to jump start a car?

Obviously, IF the car HAS a DEAD battery, you will NOT be starting it.

---------------- Looks like you missed his point. The DEAD battery, (both engines off) if first connected electrically to the GOOD battery, but the car with the dead battery draws starting current from the good battery without risking a voltage spike to the alternator (engine off).
