I have a 98 Camry with 100,000 miles on it. For the last month or so have been noticing a sound best described as a low wooooing sound coming from th right rear wheel when traveling at appr 50 to 60 mph. Don't hear it below or above those speeds. What is the probable cause of this noise?

Geez I'm slack but I draw the line at things which might kill you or someone else on the freeway. It could be a wheel bearing, loose centre nut, wheel nuts or brakes. Might not be expensive or hard to fix but a month is too long to just listen to it. Jack it up and have a closer look or take it to a mechanic... now. Might be a tyre, even so there's probably something wrong with it.
Vic, to diagnose a bad wheel bearing (which sounds probable based on your description) drive down a road (preferably with little or no traffic) unil you duplicate the noise. Then see-saw the steering wheel GENTLY back and forth so the weight of the car transfers left and right. If one of the rear wheel bearings are bad, you will hear the noise you are describing get louder and softer as the weight on that corner is loaded and unloaded. BTW, rear wheel bearings are a breeze to replace. If you are mechanically inclined at all it can be a DIY job for sure.
Don't you have to press the outer race into the disk?

No, the rear wheel bearing is avilable as a sealed unit only with the hub already pressed in. Remove the rear drum and there are 4 bolts that hold the hub/bearing in place. Thats it.
