I have some scratches on Titanium silver metallic paint (not deep, but clearly visible) resulting from using the wrong side of a dishwashing sponge
If any of you have a strong recommendation for a particular brand of rubbing compound, I'd greatly appreciate it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ any WHITE rubbing compound ought to be all right, and use it fairly gently. But don't use the rusty red type, it's much too abrasive for a newish paint job.
On the other hand, if the surface paint is really penetrated, you might try pushing it back on the dealer and tell 'em it was delivered that way..... (nah, you might be cheating the dealer, and that's not nice.)
====================================================== Might not work, but there are new generations of polymer based products, some of which claim to fill minor surface scratches. The benefit is that you would not be removing mil thickness from your clear coat which presumably could result in longer life for the finish. Sometimes they call their "wax" products a "polish" where it is not actually abrading the surface but creates a similarly glossy surface.
