Totoa being sued for unwanted acceleration

There is some discussion on other news groups that the law suits against Toytota and the massive publicity have been orchestrated by government because of Toyotas hold on the auto market at a time when GM and Chrysler have been trying to make a comeback under the auspices of the Federal governments bailouts

In other words they want to discredit Toyota so that there is less competition for GM and Chrysler.

How true this is I have no idea but it DOES seem like a fortuitous coincidence to me .

I doubt it. Most things like this have at their origin real injuries and real plaintiffs, who. right or wrong, allege it's the cars fault and not their own. Often they believe it, and maybe other times they do it because they're desperate becaus of high medical bills and the need for expensive rehab.

If there's more than one Toyota involved, the lawyers hire a car guy to try to find something wrong with a the design of t he cars, instead of just the one car that he says failed.

There are lots of amazing coincidences Had this happened anytime in the last 10 or 20 years or the next 10 people might think it's an orchestrated effort to help American car companies.
