I just bought a used 87 extracab longbed pickup with the 22R engine and auto transmission. No owner's manual with this and I couldn't find one on eBay or a couple local used bookstores. It also looks like toyota doesn't have this available any longer as well. The gas gauge doesn't work. It will be awhile until I get around to fixing this.
Anyone know what the size of the tank is?

I sold mine this last spring. I picked up a 1986 manual that the dealer had on hand. The service manager said there was very little changes from
86 to 87. While I kept a detailed log of gas mileage I can't remember what the tank capacity was. I do remember that I never put more than 14 gals US. in the tank.Hope this helps,
It's 16 gallons. Usually on E at about 13....

Now when I have a good MPG figure I will be able to run the tank to almost empty before dropping it to put in a new sender.
