Idle Problem

Oct 23, 2006 4 Replies

I have a 1995 2.4L Tacoma, the truck idles around 1100 cold (normal), but drops to 750 warm (seems low). The problem that I am encountering is when I engage the Air Conditioning the computer is not compensating for the added draw and the engine stalls whether it is warm or cold. Any suggestions, the Haynes book I have is little help.

What I wanna know is why you have such a big lift kit and only 31inch tyres!!!!

It is a two wheel drive and that is all that I can fit under there right now.

Why by a four by four? They are worst on gas mileage, higher on insurance cost, and more expensive to buy... A 4x4 would of run me around $3,000 more to purchase, used of course, and an extra $20 a month in insurance, and 5 mpg less than my truck even with my bigger tires. Besides, I do not need all wheel drive living in So.Cal. - no snow and I don't go to the desert. I pulled a guy out of the sand with my truck, by the way he had a four wheel drive and got stuck. My previous truck as a pre-runner 98, sold it to get a nice Camry then bought this used when I got back to California.
