That's funny; I've never found chain drives to be particularly noisy. My old Cressida had a chain drive, and it was so quiet you could hardly hear the engine idle.

Actually, the belt needs to go at 90k... I think the chain was recommended at 120k on the 22RE, but most people let it go until it started making noise.

What is an average cost of replacing this belt right now anyway? Anyone know the ballpark figure?
We do it for about $280 for the V6
