Then that's what you screwed up. If it worked until you broke it, then you broke it. If it wasn't working, and it's still not working, then you didn't fix it.

You haven't said anything that we can dial in on to offer any help beyond either you broke it or you didn't fix it.

When the rear casing was off, was the shifter moved? If so, then the shift fork is in the wrong place.

No matter what, it sounds like you have to take the rear case off again, and then put in on right. Sorry, but your question sucked. You need to give more detail.

ok thats fair. by the rear casing i mean the part that covers the reducsion gears and out put shaft. i didnt even open the transmition itself and wile it was open i moved only the linkage ends where they are made to be moved from. dose this help?

First, I have not opened your particular transmission before, but I have opened other kinds of transmissions. I can not give you specific information about what part connects to another.

When you moved the linkage while the end case was off, you pulled the shift linkage from its mounting point at the other end of the shaft. Assuming the shaft that the linkage is on goes from the front of the transmission case all of the way to the rear, whn you move the rear, the front also moves. You got the linkage out of position, and now you can not change the gears. You must remove the end case from the rear of the transmission again, and investigate the internal stuff that is connected to the external linkage parts.

The shift linkage on the outside connectes to shafts and forks on the inside. The forks ride on rings on the edges of some gears, and if the fork slides out of the groove it belongs in, the gear will slide to one side or the other (depending on where the fork belings and where it ends up), causing that gear to be selected and preventing any other selection. Your transmission has an input shaft (connected to the engine) and an output shaft (connected to the drive axle). The input shaft has a gear cluster on it, and the output shaft has another gear cluster. There will be a counter shaft in there somewhere that houses a gear thas is used when you select Reverse. A typical configuration is for 1st and R to use all of the same gears, except that R also employs the counter shaft and its gear. The counter shaft gear is pushed and pulled by a fork that is attached to a shaft that is connected to the linkage that was moved while the end case was not installed.

The really sucky part is, you may need to open the transmission even more to get it back to where it is supposed to be.

By the way, the rear section that you removed typically houses the Overdrive Gear(s). I suppose it could house any number of things, but the examples that I've worked on (both were front wheel drive cars) the 5th Gear was housed in the end case. Your truck -- with rear wheel drive -- could be different, but I have no reason at this time to think it would be different. The only commonality between the part(s) you removed and reinstalled, and the trouble you are reporting now is the shift linkage.
