73 bus finally up and running !!

after quite a few months of fixing oil leaks, stripped studs, missing tin, bad intake manifold, swapping trannies, new boots, repacked cv joints, refreshing the shift linkage, the sucker starts and runs !!

had to adjust the shifter plate - threw us for a scare thinking the other tranny was junk-- a few wiring problems left to resolve -- we forgot where the wires went.

one thing i learned is to make sure that everything is written down. i got a few cheapy clipboards, some notebooks and wrote on them both "73 bus", "80 trans am", "67 bus", etc. this way, all info pertaining to each vehicle is written down in a dedicated notebook for each vehicle, and placed in a dedicated spot on the wall in the garage. this can also be used for reference later on.

'bout time i got smart !!

just wanting to share bob

Cool deal, Bob. Now go enjoy the "driving it" part of owning a classic VW for a change instead of the "fixing it" part. :-)
