scale for weighing

Oct 20, 2005 2 Replies

Does anyone have a recommendation for a scale to weigh pistons and such? There are quite a few small scales on eBay that handle weights of 500-600 grams and are rather cheap. Years ago I had access to an old style (but accurate) triple beam scale and as I recall a scale with a 500 gram capacity was just barely enough. There are some others on eBay with 1kg capacity and some that handle more but only have a 1 gram accuracy. Any suggestions?

Any set of balance scales - even home made.

Forget about how many grams each piston / rod wieghs.

Put one on each side and swap about till you find the lightest. This is the one the others have to match. Remove material from the heavier ones until the scale is balanced.

It doesnt matter how much they wiegh - just that they are all the same !

Thanks. I knew the actual weight wasn't an issue and I was sorta looking for an excuse to buy another gadget. :o) Just didn't want to buy a piece of junk.
