can the s2 solenoid be changed easily or is it a garage job.car goes into limp mode when kick down operates,diagnostic code 222 comes up,open circuit in s2 solenoid which is inside the box is it readily accessible on removal of box help much appreciated

Not an easy job as fair as i know. Start by checking the resistance over the solenoid, it should be 10-15 ohm, if not its defective. Its between pin no 22 on the large connector on the gearbox and ground on the gearbox.
