Ok quick question(s). Tonight the wifes ZJ would not start for her, it cranks over great but no start. The fuel pump goes wirrrrrrrrrrr when the key is turned as it should. Battery voltage seems ok (12.04v with everything off).
Unfortunately I didn't have my Haynes (a co-worker borrowed it for the weekend) with me so I don't know what the codes equal. If I read them right they are
44 and 11 if i read them wrong then they code be 55 or 22 and 41
Had CAA tow the J**P over to my mechanic so he can look at it on Monday..
Any ideas on the codes and do they make sense for the thing cranking over like crazy and not firing up/

Code 11 Description: Engine not cranked since last reset or no ignition reference signal detected during cranking Power loss light: Off Limp-in mode: None
Code 44 Possible Causes Bad connection or wiring - Check the wiring and connections between the SMEC and the ignition key. Be sure to check the fusible links by the battery. Locate the J2 wiring splice in your vehicle by using the splice locations in the front of the wiring diagrams manual. Make sure there is power to the module from the splice with the ignition on. Clean and regrease any corroded connectors with dielectric grease and repair any shorts. Blown internal fuse - Replace SMEC.
Diagnostic Method Trigger Parameters
- 12V on the J2 input was not detected during startup diagnostics Results If Component Fails Fault code 44 is stored.
Code 22 Description: Coolant temperature sensor signal out of range Power loss light: On Limp-in mode: Radiator fan is turned on and the charge temperature sensor as an indication of the coolant temperature
Possible Causes Coolant temperature sensor failure - The sensor should measure 9,120 ohms to
10,880 ohms at 77^F. On 2.2L and 2.5L engines, this sensor is located on the right-hand side of the water box. Bad connection or wiring - Check the wiring and connections between the sensor and the logic module (or SMEC). Clean and regrease any corroded connectors with dielectric grease. You may have disconnected the sensor if you recently set the base ignition timing.
Diagnostic Method Trigger Parameters
- Sensor output less than 0.51V or greater than 4.96V Results If Component Fails Fault code 22 is stored, the power loss light is turned on, and the logic module will enter limp-in mode and turn on the radiator fan. All models except 1988 and later Turbo I engines will use the charge temperature sensor as an indication of the coolant temperature.
Code 41 Description: Alternator field control circuit open or shorted Power loss light: Off Limp-in mode: None
Possible Causes Bad connection or wiring - Check the wiring and connections between the logic module and the power module. Clean and regrease any corroded connectors with dielectric grease and repair any shorts. Bad voltage regulator circuit - See Diagnosing Your Charging System
Diagnostic Method Trigger Parameters
- Near 0V or near 12V not detected when the field coil driver is turned on or off, respectively Results If Component Fails Fault code 41 is stored. If the condition persists, it will eventually result in a fault code 46 or 47.
Code 55 Description: End of message Power loss light: Off Limp-in mode: None

Ok heres an update.. Seems the problem was with the fuel pump madule after all. $400 in parts and its all better. Wifey is happy again as she's mobile once again. However I*'m currently stuck at home as Sunday the $%^& brake lines on my 89 caprice waggy decided to start leaking.. Oh the joy and fun of cars.....
