940 a/c dash panel won't come off to get at blower switch

After you get the trim piece off, there are 4 screws that hold the panel (the one with the a/c controls) on. I took those out, but the panel wouldn't come out. The bottom of the panel is held on by 2 brackets even after the screws are taken out. What's the trick to getting it out without breaking it? Need to check blower switch and resister. thanks for the help. billy

On some of the early models you have to gently bend the two screw tabs out of the way to remove the head unit. However since the resistor pack and the blower fan relay are more readily accessible from their location under and behind the glove box, it's much easier to check the electrics there, since if the fan doesn't work at all you'll probably be replacing the fan motor anyway. After the glove box and underdash panel are out of the way, you only have to remove the right side trim panel, slide out the computer and remove the bracket to gain removal access to the fan motor.
