I try in english i have a model 244GL, yesterday i stopped for a minute and i can't restarting . Batteries over! With another car i can starting again the volvo, but after some meters, the fueldisplay and waterdisplay falled and the engine stopped. Batteries over again!Today i put a new batterie, the engine is running, but with a voltmeter i can see that: 14 volts before installing the new batterie, 12volts after installing and during the engine is running. How can i know? Is it just a batterie problem? or , is it the generator? How can i do? Excuse me all for my english and thanks for the responses. Jacky.

Jacky sorry this is in English but my French is very poor about a year at school over twenty years ago, the problem you have is the alternator/charging system first check all wires on the alternator there should be three battery positive battery negative and the small wire the warning light the alternator belt needs to be tight if all these are OK then it is the alternator and it has to be removed for either repair or replacement. Alternators can usually be repaired at a reasonable cost.

While working on this problem, disconnect the battery cables to avoid damage.
