pre-fuel pump repair

Apr 21, 2004 1 Replies

My mech. told me the pre-pump is not working but that it was only a problem if the tank was below 1/2 fuel. I decided to replace it myself and think its pretty simple but...I'm concerned about the residual gas fumes in the tank when I take off the (collection of hose/tubes) cap. I'm thinking of getting a can of CO2 and spray it into the tank until used up. Otherwise I'm clueless. Thank you, Rojo

If it works when the tank if full it is only the bellows hose between the pump and pipe above it. Less than $10 even at a dealership.
