Visor problem for V70 etc.

We recently had the driver-side visor lose its ability to stay in position (out of the way). Read on this newsgroup that a new visor + labour is very expensive so decided that there had to be a cheap fix.

Here it is: Buy some velcro with sticky backing and stick one side on the back of the visor and the other in the proper place in the headliner where the visor should stay. Presto!

Of course it does not help with getting the visor to stay at exactly the correct angle to block the sun but we won't get much sun til spring here in Toronto anyways, so lots of time to figure that one out.

When I had that problem with my 1989 Saab 9000, I bought one of the right color from an online junkyard for about $30. The visor was held in position by three screws, and it took only a few minutes to take out the old one and put in the replacement.

Obviously, you don't go north-to-south on the 404 or west-to-east on the 401/407 in the mornings.

I'd vote for a trip to Cookstown Auto Parts. While you're rummaging in the yard for the parts, your spouse can go cruising through downtown Cookstown or the Cookstown Outlet Mall.
