Both things are explained in the manual.

The lambdasensor light indicates a fault code is stored in the momory, it can be many things, many of them not related to the lambda sensor. The service light indicates its time to service the car. You can just ignore it or reset it.

If you want help reading fault codes or to reset the light you need to write exactly what car you have, model and year.

Thanks for the info, my car is 850 2.5 non turbo Reg N473 MDF I don't know if it is 10 or 20 valve. Hope this helps Mike

If its the 10v it will say 'DOHC' on the plastic top cover, whereas if its the 20valver, it will say '20 valve'.

Engine numbers on timing belt cover are B52502S and B52504S respectively.

The lambda light (MIL) lit is not necessarily a fault with the lambda sensor- you'll need the computer codes read, cleared, car driven, and recurring codes re-read to be sure as to whats causing the problem.

The service light being on means its time for a service! If the garage did not re-set the light during the service, it will still be on, obviously. Its normal for it to be lit for 2 mins then extinguish.
