I'm looking to replace my '93 Passat GLX (118,000 miles) with a 2001 Jetta GLX. I test drove two of them and like them. Although the shorter wheel base makes you feel the bumps a bit more than the Passat, still not bad. I've been broswing over this group and haven't really seen to may problems with that model.
Anyone got information to the contrary? Also, one thing that really was a pain with the 93 (amoung the many : can't get part easily, hard to find service amnauls and wiring diagrams, etc) was the fact that if I had a problem with the car I couldn't 'Blink' the error codes. I realize there is a ODBII sensors now that give more accurate information. Sometimes, yer just looking to be pointed in the right direction. Is there a way to make the Jetta blink codes? If so, would that be in a Bentley manual?
So, thanks in advance.
