i am looking to buy a 96 jetta, and the airbag light is on, i was wondering if any wiring problems could cause this, or if the airbag was definaltely bad...also the sunroof doesnt not open, but the motor tries to make it move, any one else have this roblem?

Yes, yes, and my guess the complete sunroof frame assembly needs replaced. The air bag will set fault codes... so get them.
