GTI MkV headliner vibration, driving me crazy

Yeah be firm with them when you tell them its not acceptable. I worked at a VW dealership for many years & searched for many a noise. Its a new car & shouldn't be making any noises. If they don't help you contact VW customer service & tell them you are satisfied with this service. VW has a special insulating kit specifically made for getting rid of noises.

So far they've been fine about looking for noises, and have found and fixed a couple of others. This is the 3rd time I've had them look for this noise, but only the 1st time I was able to actually demonstrate it for them. However, it's the 1st time I was told it's not curable. (One of the mechanics told this to the service advisor.) But the service advisor said he'd do some research on the problem, so at the moment he's trying.

Thanks for the input. AFAIC, it shouldn't be making any noises, but it's nice to have it confirmed that I'm not being too demanding by someone who's worked at a dealership.

As much as I hated looking for noisees when working on cars I would never tell a customer with a new car that they had to live with a noise. I can remember pulling whole interiors apart in cars when working with benzes.

So, even Mercs make noises?

Especially Mercurys. You thnk they don't have crummy employees on the Mecedes assembly line?
