Can a nv3500 be bolted up to a early 80's 350 or are the bolt patterns differnent?

Will bolt up any a hydraulic clutch setup is required to run it.

It's not a good idea anyway. The 3500 is not strong enough for V8's over 300 c.i. Think 4500.
Also has nothing to do with Getrag.

The Getrag was put behind MANY V-8's over the years! It was not the trans that the 4500 is and it is not a HD towing trans but is more than capable of light duty towing and all around driving behind even a mildly modified 350.

are you asking about the Getrag 5 speed or the New Venture 3500 5 speed? two different transmissions.
but to answer the question, the bellhousing pattern for a SBC hasn't changed in 50 years. providing you have the donor bellhousing and hydraulic clutch setup, you're all set.
