The drivers door on my 98 Explorer is sticking and difficult to open/close due to the hook in the door latch not opening enough when I pull on the handle.
I saw a post in here months ago when I was researching a different problem about this issue but was not having problems then and did not pay attention.
I could use a tip too... I have a passenger door that won't open at all... the doorlock is jammed, it won't unlock with key, powerlock, or interior handle... I have not been able to get the interior panel off to get a look at the mechanism... is there any way I can get this think unlocked?
I had this problem a couple of years ago. If the door was locked and a rear passenger pulled on the interior handle before it was unlocked it would get stuck and couldn't be opened. There was a trick to get it open - but I'm not sure if I can remember it.
It was a combination of things - like pulliing on one of handles and then pulling up on the door lock pin. I'm sorry I can't recall exactly but there is a way of unsticking it.
Mine was covered under warranty. You could make a stick about how unsafe it is if a passenger can't get out in an emergency. The dealer replaced the internal latch once I demonstrated the problem.
