Re: GM to use imported engines in initial Volt run-UAW

This isn't really news. GM has made engines outside of the US before.

The owner's manual for my '84 GMC Sierra shows at least some of the straight-six engines as being produced in Mexico.

Sounds like what Toyota does every day. One would expect Toyota should pass on the money they save, to their buyers, but why do that when Toyota buyers are willing to pay 20% to 30% to drive one home?

Is that why it is so important to buy American cars?

Your uninformed or misinformed opinion does not deserve a reply, except point out the majority of the engines in the vehicles sold by Toyota in the US, are imported

Perhaps unless you believe it is better for American workers to buy their vehicle made in Japan by a foreign corporation? What if they did that to YOUR or one of YOUR family members employer?

What opinion. The Equinox and the Pontiac Torrent both have engines made in China. They have been since 2005.

"Mike" calls any fact that doesn't fit his worldview an "opinion." Don't sweat it.
