history : had four instances over almost 3 years of cracked turbo hoses or hoses coming loose, so turbo may have been stressed at times
dealer maintained - its on contract hire for three years
three weeks ago set off one morning and i thought i was dragging an exhaust along the road. exhaust securely on. opened bonnet, nose coming from turbo. AA man appeared, got "lesson" in idling for the benefit of the turbo and informed turbo was on its way out - needed replaced quickly. car put on back of big yellow truck and taken to (trustworthy) dealer.
dealer stripped down turbo - couldnt find anything wrong. kept it for 10 days. did 100 miles testing over the period.
got it back but it still (randomly) makes this "trailing aluminium noise", primarily on startup.
anybody any clues, ideas suggestions?
