Saab 900 Question

A good buddy of mine has a 1996 Saab 900 (2.5 V6) that has some strange electrical problems, which they see to be noted for. It kills the battery, but will charge it, although not well. New alternator on it, and new battery too, but the Climate Control System (Electronic) is acting funky and there is a faint "Burned" electrical smell in the car. The car is mint, and only has 165K km's on it. Does anyone here have or has had problems with the car killing the battery?? It is a really nice (loaded) car but with the electrical issue it is heading for the junkyard if it can't be fixed for a reasonable cost.

Bill.

The usual fix is to watch current flow through the system with the car off (ammeter). There will be a little flow for the alarm if it has one. Some other circuits like the SID have a little flow too IIRC. Start pulling fuses until you identify all the flows. Look for something more than a trickle.
