Ebay experts, Why am I getting so much non-stude drek when I do a search for "Studebaker" on ebay. I now get all kinds of auctions, especially Jeep stuff , in which nothing on the listing seems to mention Studebaker. I am not checking search titles and descrips, so should not get anything which does not have Studebaker in the title. Frustrated, Barry'd in Studes
Barry, if you really, REALLY, want to experience frustration, try searching for a Jeep on eBay. You'll get thousands of hits for dreck like bogus HID lights, and under-car neon, and seat covers, yada, yada, yada, All keyword-spammed, like JP says. If you are searching for a vintage military Jeep, you have to wade through an incredible volume of junk.
We are fortunate in that most of the mouth-breathers that peddle that sort of s**te don't even know that Studebakers exist, so they don't keyword-spam the name.
eBay really should tighten up their enforcement of keyword spamming. I'd suggest a "report this auction for keyword spamming" button be implemented, and if "X" number of users hit the button, the auction is automatically pulled, and the seller has to make his case in person to an eBay agent to get it reinstated.
eBay should also have a category: "auto accessories, all make" wherein the above-described junk could be sold.
