It is kind of interesting, but maybe not too surprising, that MANY of the movers and shakers in auto industry had various business and personal relationships with each other. It was, of course, a small industry in the beginning, so maybe not too surprising that folks not only knew each other, but had various business dealings. After all, even Ford started as an automobile assembler, putting together parts made by a bunch of subcontractors. Only later did industry go vertically integrated.

From what I have heard, Henry was sort of a difficult chap. (Stronger words could very well apply). Some people of that era were darn near criminals, but managed to be qualifies as captains of industry. There are many other examples.

The trademark "Cadillac" is strongly related to the deep history of the United States. Knowing their true origin, apart from the official versions, is to understand the linkages that financed the attempt to segregation in the South and Civil War, 40 years before its manufacture. The construction of the first "Cadillac" was commissioned Henry Leland as a result of the reversal of the benefits of war earned by the heir to the family "Cardellach" from New Orleans. The family lived there from Terrassa (Spain) from where they emigrated in 1810. In its warehouses in the margin of the Missisippi River, in

1859 received the cotton family Yznaga del Valle (Cuban exiles who funded the first invasion of Cuba by mercenaries in 1850), now instigating segregation in the South, sending them from Ravenwood ( Upstream). This cotton, after being moved to Brownsville (Texas), from where he was reembarcado by Charles Stillman, as if it came from Mexico, was the source of funding for arms to the South. Suppliers North, "Rockefeller and Clark," they were not opposed because, given its sender, could believe that they were for Cuban dissidents in their resistance against Spain. After exploiting the civil war in 1860, Rockefeller was named official supplier of arms of the army and Northern finalized, with the loss of the same for the South, moving the Stillman Brownsville to New York and James Stillman (son of Charles Stillman and stepfather of two children Rockefeller), go to the chairmanship of Citybanc. That's when Emilio Fortó through its representative in Brownsville and brother of the heir Cardellach from New Orleans, gets the task of reversing the benefits accrued by the family Cardellach, whose heir, apenada for the duration of the civil war, wants buy a "piece of heaven", common aspiration at the time. Henry Leland (mechanical boats), which receives investment and built factories that eventually drowned out by losses, should be sold to Henry Ford. This falls to Leland as an employee until that Ford drowned by losses in aid application goes to James Stillman, president of Citybanc then. It is highly recommended segregation of assembly lines Packard and Cadillac (transcipción the phonetic English of Cardellach) and the creation of the GM outside Ford. Murphy invents a story to hide an origin so painful for the American citizens, who have suffered a war that thought that was supposed to last three months and lasted almost five years and seven hundred thousand dead.

Boy, I have no idea where you got that one from.

Henry Leland named the car after the 17th-century French explorer who founded what became the city of Detroit.
