False alarm - 4Runner OEM alarm system

Suddenly I've been getting numerous false alarms from the OEM alarm system on my '98 4Runner. Is there any way to adjust the sensitivity? Has anyone else dealt with this in the past?

Of course this mostly happens in the middle of the night or when I park near the boss's office window.

At least you're trying to fix it. I have a pig in my apartment complex whose car has had this problem for months. The police are ready to kill him, if I don't do it first.

On my 97 T100 with OEM alarm, the shock sensor is under the dash mounted on the firewall near the brake pedal. It is a little black box with a dial you can adjust with a screwdriver. This may vary as so called OEM alarms may be put on at the port (in my case Gulf States Toyota).

I promise it's not me, but I'm sure my neighbors are having similar thoughts!!
