What is the easiest way,(besides having someone else do it),to repace the evo sensor on the steering column of my '97 GMC Sierra XLT K1500? Does the complete steering column have to be removed?Thanks,Ed

Did this a few years ago. It is real easy. No the column doesn't have to be removed. Just unbolt the two sections, under the dash. The one section will slide down enough to allow the swap. Old unit had some kind of stick foam all over it. The hardest part was cutting off the foam to get to the wires.
