Good mechanic in Huntington Beach, CA

i have a 99 chev tahoe, that the intake gasket has gone bad. i waiting to get the official estimate and quote from the dealership next monday (the 19th of march). was wondering if anyone knew of a reputable mechanic who is qualified to do the repairs for a lower price. The service rep said it would cost b/t 550 and 600. or if someone has done this themselves, how intimidating is it?? i am just scared to do it myself b/c it is the engine, and well if i mess up there with a lb of torque too much, then i know i am screwed the rest of the way. thanks, Paul snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com
