Made the switch to Mobil 1

Hey guys,Just was going to say I made the switch to Mobil 1 today on my '99 K15005.3L with 90K.I did some looking around google and didn't really come up with a deffinateanswer, should I change the oil and filter at 500 or 1000miles?would it be ok to just chage the filter and top off at 500 or 1000 miles?If not, why? (just curious)What I was looking to do change filter and or oil at 500/1000 miles, thenmaybe again at 1000 or 2000miles (depending on how it looks) then go to 3-4Kmile oil changes. sound ok? and here again, should I change oil and filterwhile doing the swap?Also, I was at O'reillys today, and the guy said that the front and reardifferentials already have synthetic in them from the factory, is thatcorrect?Either way I'm going to change everything over to synthetic anyway, justcurious..Adair

Have '99 Yukon and just switched front and rear to synthetic this weekend. Where is the vent for the front diff. George? I should probably examine mine. I asked a GM Mech. and he never did answer me.

Here is a picture, George. It's a bit difficult to see, but if you look at the top of the picture, middle (slightly to the left) you can see the vent partially. This will give you an idea of where to look on your own truck. There is also a small vent hose going to the vent itself, which would help in locating it.
