Need advice please

I have a 1999 Chevy Venture van. It is running great except for this squeaking noise. When you turn and hit a dip it squeaks like a tricycle with a rusted wheel. It also does this when slowing down or just moving through a bumpy parking lot. It has done this also on a smooth surface just stopping at a red light. The shocks seem fine because the van drives very, very smooth.

I took it o my mechanic today and he greased the bushing, and said that should fix it. Well it didn't. Anyone have any idea what it is? I have parked the van, and then stood outside of it, and rocked it side to side, and front to back, and can never hear it. It is coming from the front of the vehicle for sure. What could it be?

I only wish it was that simple. I know that sound far to well. It is doing that now as well, so I know I need new brake pads. This is far from brake pad wear. Maybe a better example would be the constant squeaking you might hear from a bed at a Motel 6 with a hooker making about 500 bucks for a lay, and the guys really giving it to her. It's loud, way more loud than brake pad wear. Any other ideas?

has to be a bushing. prehaps he didn't grease it well enough or didnm't grease the right one. it is most likely the spring bushings. or it could be the control arm bushings.

and i don't think you bounching on the outside of your van would be enough to cause the squeek. you usually need forward momentum to do it. (and yes I have tied a guy to the hood to look for that anoying squeek.)

Thanks a bunch. That gives me something else to mention to my Mechanic. He's very good, and stays so busy it's hard to even get an appointment. Hopefully I can get him to do this sometime this week, and I'll let you know. I'm going nuts. I hate hearing that damn sound.

I had that same problem with an Olds Achieva I used to have. It was a really loud squeeking noise. It ended up being the control arm bushings needed replaced.

Thanks to all of you that have responded. I have an appointment Monday, and he's gonna check the spring bushings, control arm bushings as well as any other bushing he said. I told him I could not take it anymore. It is driving me nuts. He agreed with you all, saying that it is one of the two for sure. he finally got to drive it yesterday, and heard it himself, so hopefully this squeaking will be gone soon. Thanks again.
