If you wanted a ¢G10495 car from an Audi UK dealer, would you try to bargain > it down to ¢G10000 or is that not a common practice at an Audi dealer?

It is not illegal to try. The worst thing that can happen, is a simple "no" for an answer. You can always go elsewhere. Here, we often try to bargain on both new and used cars. It is often possible to get an even better deal on your car purchase after a little price bargaining. You win some, you lose some, but why not try.
