story about my BMW , garage and an accident . . .

my 328i was parked in a parking garage. everything was fine when i left it there and when i was drivng before . no spongy brakes ect. i get a call next day there was an accident when an attendant drove it.

they claim the brakes didnt work , and the brake fluid light is on. i go to inspect, yes its a little low and the light is on. i see no leaks around the wheels BUT there is fluid on top of the brake reservoir and along the sides. also in spots where u dont expect it ( on the strut) metal pipes from reservoir OK.

the fluid was low but not much. could still see it in the reservoir. added fluid and all ok.(didnt take much) havent had a mechanic inspect it yet.

BUT

did the garage guy put a rag in the reservoir and take the fluid out to cover his mistake ? looks like a 15 mph hit. front quarter panel pushed in and bumper pushed in. whould that make the fluid splash ( doubtful) ?

cant see master cylinder. obviously mechanic will look at it.

If it is a manual the clutch stops working long before the brakes stop working.

Also they are a workshop and someone drove the car with the brake warning light on and didn't investigate first...

I smell a fishy rat.
