should the injector on the cimarron pulse or should it be constant? if it should pulse what causes it not to?

At idle you may be able to see the injector pulsing the fuel flow. It should spray in an even cone with no large droplets visible.
If it's pulsing on and off at RPM above idle, causing the engine to rev up and down, you have other problems. They may include the idle speed sensor, idle speed control motor, throttle position sensor and/or ???
Does the Check Engine light ever come on with the engine running, other than when you've just started it?
