Re: Ok guys please help the little lady

For over the top obnoxiousness, you can purchase the SLP Loudmouth.

I suggest one of the following: Corsa (prem. tips of course), Flowmaster 80 Series (Check out diff. in regular and Dyna Flow tech. Flowmaster), and Mufflex (as much as 4in.)

Dynomax also has a nice sound.

I recently purchased a 98 Z28 convertible what I need is some major advise. I have heard some Z28's that really have a great sound to them. I know it has to be the exhaust system. Any suggestions as to what I can put on mine to get that I am bad rumble? Thanks JeweL

Borla is a decent performance exhaust, and the tunability of it is a plus. But, Borla is just a little whiny/high pitched for my taste. (And I don't like the boxy resonator tips. Bleh)

Also, just my $.02,

Just my two cents. ~9O)

I just installed a Flowmaster Cat back system for my 88' Formula Bird. The original system used 2-1/2" pipes from the exhaust to the Y pipe and at the Y pipe went up to 3" through a free flowing 3" cat. 3" out of the cat to the muffler and 2 - 2-1/2" pipes exiting out the rear.

The new system I put on is surprisingly quieter than the old. From the cat back is 3" to the muffler and out the other side 3" to exit on the driver side. It looks good has a good sound, not the dual sound but it definately has the patented Flowmaster sound when I punch the throttle. No noticable difference in pick up since the old system was also free flowing. I definately recommend welding the exhaust up to make things very clean looking. Those 3" clamps were just horrendous looking while I was fitting everything under the car. The system also uses the factory exhaust mounting points. Total cost including new rubber mounts was $250.
