1995 Chev Safari, Dutch Doors won't open.

Hi,I have a Safari van and recently the rear hatch (Dutch Door style)won't open whether I use the hood release in the front, or the lockin the rear hatch itself.Does anybody have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this, or get thehatch to open? Aside from the convenience of being able to open myrear door again, I really need to access my right rear taillight andreplace a light bulb. :-(Thanks in advance.
