My experience with a 2003 Sub LT, 1/2T, 2WD, 5.3L, Calif Emissions, at
25Kmi:18 mpg Hw (maybe 19 if you're careful), 14-15 City (LA).
we have a 2002 with 5.3 V8 2 wheel drive. we get 13-14 in the city and 16-18 on the highway driving 75 mph. My wife gets better mpg than I do. I have a heavy foot. :) I'm in Texas with no CA emissions

It depends on the model, your driving, the climate and terrain. 1/2 tons with a 5.3 might do that well but if you use a/c a lot it may be less especailly in town and your "foot" on the throttle plays a role here too. 2wd models will do better than 4x4 models also. If it is a
3/4 ton with a 6.0, I would not except those numbers at all realistically and it may be more like 12/16 or so if you are lucky. I burb is a heavy vehical and it will use some fuel to move it. I have a much older one, a 89 4x4 1/2 ton that I have had since new and it gets about 13 around town and 17 to 19 on the highway (depending on speed) and it has a different engine than the newer one do to.Well I know now-- I bought one
13-14 cityThanks guys/gals
