Any programming on the market to put vehicle into "engine safe mode" (engine overheat protection mode) while on the highway to reduce fuel consumption?

It would not save fuel because is safe mode the spark is retarded too and thermal efficency is reduced so MPG would drop as well. There is no magic fix here.
