'91 Suburban Kill Switch

Alright guys, due to some recent breakins at my apartment complex I have decided to install a hidden kill switch in my Suburban. I've narrowed the location down to either the starter, the coil, or the fuel pump. I was told by a friend that if I attached it to the fuel pump that it would run constantly and cause my truck to run rich, ultimately wasting gas. Is this true?

an on/off switch wired in series on a pump wire won't cause your truck to run rich.
