Cheaper alternative spark plug wires for 97 Astro

Does anyone favor another brand of spark plug wires to AC Delco?

The AC Delcos are up to $120 for a set of 6, up from $90 three years ago.

I want some high quality wires that are already cut to the right length and ready to install.

The application is for a 97 Astro with 356,000 miles used for a taxi cab. I want them to last at least 100,000 miles, if not more.

why don't you divide the price, by the number of miles you have been getting out of them, and then ask yourself if its worth the cost.

Why not check out Magnecor wires. They are cheaper and better than the ones yo've been quoted. I just put a set on a 1990 Suburban 5.7L and they work great. I ordered them direct and the total cost was $104 delivered.

Not sure if they are "better" but I've tried dozens of brands over the years and these appear to be very well made (unlike some of the others I've tried). I guess I'll just have to wait and matbe I'll get 110,000 miles out of them like I did my shocks. I was truly impressed with them when I took them out of the box to examne them but only time will tell.

AC Delco used to be really good stuff. I managed a hardware and autoparts store for my dad years ago, and we got AC Delco parts and batteries through a special program with Cotter & Co (True Value). We had fewer returns with AC Delco parts than any other line we had.

Even their batteries were top notch. Quite a number of them lasted the actual warranty life and longer. All that being said, in the last few years I have not had such good luck with AC Delco batteries. Other parts I just don't deal with because its either under warranty or I am replacing the vehicle. After several repeat AC Delco bad batteries I don't even bother having the batteries warrantied. I just go over to CarQuest instead. Down time costs more than good batteries.
