PMD FSD Repaired

My 6.5 l GMC has a new FSD. I bought a heat sink from ebay, made a few modifications, and I bought a new FSD from ebay for just over $200. Today it was all assembled and works just fine. No more stalling. I want to thank the people that helped me out and thanks to George for the pictures of his modification. I also want to needle the local diesel place. I called them, looking for a resistor, and talked to the biggest jerk in the world. I figure that since they were a Stanadyne dealer, they felt obligated to try to get me to replace the PMD in the manner that it was orginally engineered. (poorly engineered and replaceable at a substantally higher cost.) I guess I dont have any problem with loyalty to one's company, I just object to his attitude. People like that do not belong in a service industry. I wont put the name of the company in a public forum, maybe he was just having a really bad day, (which I doubt).

I just want to let that individual know that there is more than one way to repair a problem, engineers are not always right (I know because I am an engineer), and to lighten up a little before your blood pressure ruptures your eyeballs.

Thanks again,

Chip
