I have an old 1985 S-10 which has recently had some fuel system trouble. Among other things its fuel guage sender died. Upon removing the old sender I find its pickup tube has a sock filter attached to it. Is it customary for GM diesels to have in-tank filters, or is this a case of someone putting gasoline parts into a diesel fuel system?
