1994 CHEVROLET 1500, TAILGATE WILL NOT LOCK ON LEFT SIDE. I HAVE OILED, GREASED,CLEANED LOCKING THINGEE. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED. OPENING LEVER WORKS FINE, RIGHT SIDE SLIDES INTO LATCH PERFECTLY, LEFT SIDE WILL NOT MOVE IN ENOUGH TO GO INSIDE LATCH. TAILGATE RATTLES DUE TO THIS. NO REAR END DAMAGE.

DISASSEMBLE, INSPECT, REPAIR AS NECESSARY !!!!!!!

MIGHT BE THE ROD THAT PULLS THE LATCH IS BENT. SO THAT THE LATCH ISN'T EXTENDING COMPLETELY.
