Xantia HDi SX 1999 - Front door speaker?

Hi, I need to replace, ideally, just one 165mm speaker in one of the front doors. The leads have separated from the body of the speaker. Does anyone know either from where I might obtain a used one or where I might find out the technical details of the speaker so that I might get a correct new replacement. Nothing shows in the hand book or so far, in Google. Reg

All you need to know is the size (two seconds google says 170mm/6.5"). They're all universal fit.

Just pop down to a decent local car audio place, and get a pair - or get some from one of the many specialist car audio websites. They'll be be far better quality than the el cheapos fitted as standard, even if you only get the cheapest pair for £20 or so.

Thank you for that Adrian, The 165mm is the size quoted in the Xantia handbook. Whatever- I'll take out the broken one to make sure I get the right size. Reg

I dropped some of these in my xantia, straight swap apart from the connectors. I've caned them from day one and they still sound great.

Thank you for the suggestion hth, Doesn't look as though the item is still available, at least through the link website. You mention the connectors; did you have to get replacements for the ones already fitted in the Xantia? Reg

Well they are the wrong speakers then, unless you deaf! Or just ignorant...

I snipped the OEM connectors off and soldered some spade connectors onto the wires as the OEM ones were non standard.

What a coincidence. Somebody else shares my name.

Clue: I'm not a "glamour" photographer, either, nor did I die of cancer recently - either of which are suggested by a Google for my name.

isn't it just.

it's all in the headers, baby.

That still isn't me in those links, though. Not that it would be a great issue if it was - I just have no interest in home cinema.

I don't think I've ever denied being who I am. My full home address and both landline and mobile phone numbers are easily findable on Google, too.

Who are you, Dot?

So you admit to being a moron who doesn't know how to drive....

ok, I'll bite.

in what way, exactly, are those the "wrong" speakers ?

If you are 'caning' them it means that you have not matched them to the output available from your audio / radio system. OTOH it could just be a case of an overly high volume setting on your part, which you seem to have admitted, basically you have no idea as to how to drive safely...

ooh, I'd like to hear your evidence and some tech details of my head unit and how, precisely, it is matched or unmatched to the driver units.

I'm all ears.

but which part of me is on an overly high volume setting ?

i.e you are a simpleton gobshite who claims that some speakers are somehow "wrong" when they are anything but and caves in when challeneged to back up your lame and incorrect assertion.

You are indeed, the trouble is, there's f*ck all between them!

And? If it is him what difference does it make? It's not like he appeared to be abusing anyone or something?
