C4 has a separate aluminum converter housing. C6 the converter housing is part of the main case. Both are all aluminum units. The C4 is way smaller than the C6 and of course the FMX has an iron main case. Ford also had a C3 which was an air cooled version of the C4 and was used in small vehicles like Pinto with the 1600 engine.
