Funnily, I sort of agree with them - the earlier type of rack in my SD1 makes it very twitchy at speed - it really is too light, and I had to throw it away at some cost and get the later one. One day I'll see about experimenting with a variable output pump.
Sodomite Sprint cams weren't handed. They only had a single lobe for both inlet and exhaust valves, and the phasing was done by a rocker. To make it work on the opposite bank, you'd need to contra-rotate the cam - you can't fix it just by grinding different lobes.
Of course, this meant they were a bitch to grind a new profile for ! Valve lap was controlled by the rocker and pivot position, not the lobe shape.

Would still like a cheap, V8 SD1 though.
No offence intended :-) What may be considered more embarrassing is that I want an Opel Manta to replace my TR7V8 now.

Pity - I've obviously kept it as it cost an arm and leg as a re-con from Rimmers. And has only done a couple of thousand miles. I'm open to offers from others...
Perhaps an 1147 Herald motor would be the best choice -- about as much power as a 25 year old TR7 chassis could handle. Crush them all

non taken, squire.. although I'd stick with the TR7.... Mantas always make me think the owners hate Capris for some bizarre reason. That and the way the back end goes UP when you nail the throttle always freaked my chicken
S&S put a Rover 820 vitesse engine in a 7. It went like stink... didn't soumd like a V8 though.
