Has anyone knowlege of the relative outputs of the two styles of oil pump ('gear' and 'rotary vane') ?
Both have been fitted to the big Healeys over the years, and both are available and it make sense to fit the one with greater volume delivery. I suspect that the gear type surplanted the vane type on ease of manufacture and cost rather than performance but can anyone confirm this?
